Salam and hello,

I’m Milkcloud, also known as Miilkyblues on Instagram.

I’m a self-taught artist from Germany (near Tübingen), my artistic journey began in my childhood with a love towards painting anything I could imagine and exploring creative things. Since the day I learned how to hold a pencil I’ve been drawing and painting all kinds of things so all of the scribbles and doodles I did always ended up being gifts for my mom whether she could see something in them or not, sometimes just blobs of colours and random shapes or me trying to paint flowers for her. I remember how happy my “art” always made her, putting a lovely smile on her face, her hugs filled with warmth and the kind words of affirmation that kept me going. My so called artworks were always put in a box keeping them safe, forever…. So I can definitely say that my mom was one of the reasons why I kept on painting and improving myself, she was supporting me with a full heart from day one and to this day she is still by my side looking forward to what I will create next.

In February of 2016 I decided to share my artworks on Instagram which was one of the best decisions I had made because through that I was able to connect with so many of you and build such dear friendships. Anyone that has been with me since 2016 probably remembers that I started with drawing Kpop fanarts and later on moved on to, or found more joy in painting scenes from Studio Ghibli, clouds and landscapes.

Over time, my love for art became a way of reflecting, connecting and remembering. Now my works are deeply inspired by nature be it landscapes or cloudscapes, all reminders of the beauty and mercy of Allah’s creation. It is a quiet invitation, to slow down, reflect and find beauty in the little things that surround us.

In 2018 my twin sister (@tokkicloud) and I decided to open up a YouTube channel called Milkcloud to share calming and cozy videos about journalling and art. We came up with the name Milkcloud from both our IG usernames Miilkyblues and Tokkicloud. Since we grew up amongst books, pencils and nature we wanted to capture the little things in our lives and share them with you all. With our videos we were able to reach the hearts of so many and it really means so so much to us. Can never be grateful enough for this loving and supportive community.

Since I loved painting so much I wanted to study art and teach at a school but life had other plans so I ended up studying product design in 2020 and earned my bachelors degree in 2024. Even if my plan didn’t go as planned I enjoyed my time being a design student a lot, learning more about graphic design, illustration and working more on digital things. Working in a creative field meant a lot but I always and always came back to holding a pencil and paper, doing some things in the traditional way made me happier and be really present while working on what I love doing. Now I am happily working as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, dreaming of being able to create a children’s book someday.

When I’m not painting or drawing, you can always find me reading a book, crocheting, baking, watching Ghibli movies or kdramas and spending time in nature (and taking care of my dear cat Boncuk).

Working with mixed media, from gouache and acrylics to pencils and markers I let my heart and surroundings guide me while capturing the beauty in the everyday. Each brushstroke becomes an act of remembrance and my goal is to bring similar feelings of peace and presence to those who see my art.
